Some journeys are never finished.
We are delighted to present The Inner Eye — the first volume documenting the Batra Family Collection tracing Neeraj Batra's journey as a collector.
This journey has been shaped by many voices. Twenty-eight gallerists, auctioneers, art historians, scholars, and fellow collectors share anecdotes from decades of close association, offering glimpses into the evolving eye, curiosity, and discernment behind the collection.
The book traces this journey chronologically: from the Colonial era, the Bengal School, and Academic Realism, through the Indigenous Modernists—the Calcutta School, the Bombay School of Art, the Baroda School, Delhi Shilpi Chakra, the Madras School of Arts and Craft —to the Indian Contemporary, alongside International Classical, Post-War, and Contemporary art.
More than a record of artworks, The Inner Eye offers an intimate glimpse into the passion, perspective, and journey behind a collection built over a lifetime.
Limited edition. Now available.
The Eye of the Beholder, on Indian Miniature and Classical Art, follows in Winter 2027.
