In 2021, he clinched the StateoftheART Gallery Award, leading to a solo exhibition titled 'Birth of the Alter Natural' in 2022. Currently pursuing a master's in design and studio art, Mqeku's research focuses on the use of sand casting as a ceramic studio technique and its adaptation to public creative practice and various fabrication technologies.
