Subrata Gangopadhyay

Subrata Gangopadhyay, an accomplished artist born in Calcutta, India in 1959, has carved a remarkable path in the world of art. His artistic journey began at the Government College of Art & Crafts in Calcutta, where he graduated in 1980 with a First-class-first Diploma in Paintings, focusing on Life-Nature and Murals. Gangopadhyay's artistic expertise is marked by virtuoso draftsmanship, honed during his tenure as the Senior Artist of the Ananda Bazar Group of publications. His work is characterized by robust lines and lifelike figures, establishing him as a leading figure in India's modern realistic painting tradition.

Subrata Gangopadhyay's artistic vision is a symphony of swirling colors and a vivid array of hues, evident in his notable series, the "Rhythmic Harmony Series." In these captivating oil and acrylic canvases, dancers burst to life in a vibrant display, their swirling costumes mirroring the rhythm of their graceful movements.
