    Sivan Sternbach

Sivan Sternbach is a remarkable artist whose talent and expertise lie in sculpting ceramic balloons in all shapes and forms. Her journey in this peculiar art started when she took a ceramic course in her hometown of Tel Aviv in Israel. This initial period for Sivan’s art was crucial as it shaped what would go on to be a flourishing career in ceramic expressions.

A 10 years-long fascination with clay also transpired her professional career as a pastry chef in New York City, with a diploma from the French Culinary Institute. Deciding to take time off from her prospering pastry shop in Tel Aviv, she began to take bi-weekly ceramic classes in her local area. While experimenting with ceramic plates and vases Sivan found fell upon creating her phenomenal pieces of ceramic balloon art. The benchmark representation became well known when her curator decided to exhibit them.

Sivan’s initiation to sculpting ceramic balloons paid off when she was recognized for her works and her first commission for 25 balloons was concluded. This was the start of a journey that would expose this extraordinary artwork to the whole world.

The artist expresses her association with ceramic art and her balloons as a bond between freedom and the present movement. The balloons may seem like nothing outstanding but they succeed in achieving the innocence and nostalgia of commemoration and immense liberation. Sivan’s art also includes deflated balloons from the use of helium letters and small balloons.

The artist has held many solos as well as group exhibitions displaying her unique ceramic balloon artwork in Salon 2012 in London, and Red Balloon in Serbia, to name a few.

Sivan Sternbach lives and works at her studio in Tel Aviv, Israel.
