    Lyle Carbajal

Lyle Carbajal is an American multimedia artist. His work addresses the issues of social concerns reflected in the cultural and economic fabric and their application to contemporary art practices. The artist refers to his work as a hybrid of the urban and the primitive. He is currently represented by several galleries in the France and USA. He has formerly worked in multiple roles including art director, designer and illustrator. Carbajal has worked with popular companies like MTV, the British Consulate and Cartoon Network. And he has exhibited at international locations, some of which are Art Chicago, the Mark Rothko Museum in Latvia, and the Raw Arts Festival in London.
Carbajal’s multi-sensory works provide varied experiences while raising questions, offering new insights and negotiating with pre-conceived notions. The process importantly plays a role in forming his multi-media works and installations. The artist often visits and studies the site of his art production quite prior to beginning the work. This process allows the artist to develop a more engaging product in a range of interactive possibilities. Carbajal is concerned with the people, the society, popular perceptions and cultural constructs, while his concerns successfully reflect in his works and help create a dialogue between the art and the spectator. The perceptions are always in sync with the mind and the thoughts of the people, as a result, they are in a continuous flux which inspires the artist. This quality of continuous transformation is carefully captured in the artist’s work.
He currently lives and works between France and the United States.
