    Ketaki Sarpotdar

Ketaki Sarpotdar is a Baroda-based printmaker and painter whose practice explores questions of perception, truth, and the ways in which individuals interpret lived experience. Drawing inspiration from fables, folklore, and narrative traditions from across cultures, she creates imaginative visual worlds that blur the boundaries between reality and allegory.

Central to her work is an interest in the space between established binaries, where ideas of right and wrong, truth and fiction, or self and other become fluid and open to interpretation. Through recurring anthropomorphic figures such as turtles, donkeys, lions, and other animals, Sarpotdar examines human behaviour, social structures, and shifting notions of identity. Her works emerge from a dialogue between everyday observations and personal reflections, using humour, symbolism, and narrative to pose questions rather than provide answers.

Sarpotdar completed her Diploma in Fine Arts from L. S. Raheja School of Art, Mumbai, in 2014, and her Post Diploma in Visual Arts from the Graphics Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University, Baroda, in 2018. She has exhibited extensively in India and abroad, including presentations at India Art Fair and Art Dubai with Latitude 28. Her achievements include the Purushottam Public Trust Annual Merit Award and the Jeram Patel Award, both received in 2018.
