Born 1948 in Indonesia, Inanta Hadipranoto is an Asian modern and contemporary artist, whose artworks reflect the concept of ‘Everyday aesthetics’. Hadipranoto's paintings are emotional and, at times, relate to the common man and routine.
From delivering precise drawings of Indonesian women to depicting locals, Hadipranoto’s works highlight his experiential wisdom in developing an animated quality to forms. His oeuvre is not restricted to the representation of portraiture, instead, they are diverse and full of variety. Depicting royal figures or possibly women clad in royal attire, the artworks possess a balanced and ideal formalist approach. At the same time, the naturalistic landscape and realistic portraits possess a hint of European classicism, which could be probably an association of colonial artistic reference.
Hadipranoto appears to be a fortunate artist, who received several opportunities to not only paint royal figures but also daily phenomena. Some of his paintings simply depict women, children and local Indonesian huts performing routine acts. He also worked on the themes of Indonesian mythology and folktale, rendering and illustrating them in bright and vibrant hues.
One of the notable and respected Indonesian artists, Hadipranoto's work has been exhibited and offered at several auctions many times. Some of his sold artworks comprise Menangkap Gerak dan Warna si Angkara Murka 2 (Capturing Rangda’s Movement and Color 2), among others.
