Henri Fréderic Boot

 Henri Fréderic Boot, born in 1877, was a Dutch painter known for his diverse body of work. His art has been displayed at the Frans Hals Museum and auctioned multiple times, with prices ranging from 57 USD to 4,905 USD. The highest auction price for his work, "A still life with a plaster head in the artist's studio," was sold for 4,905 USD at Christie's Amsterdam in 2012. Boot passed away in 1963.

Boot studied under several notable painters, including Dirk Gerard Ezerman, Alexander Henri Robert van Maasdijk, Rein Miedema, Barent Johannes Cornelis Weingärtner in Breda, and Johan Hendrik Wijtkamp. He joined various art organizations throughout his career: Kunstkring Haarlem in 1905, the artist club De Onafhankelijken in 1912 (serving as a board member in 1917), the Guild of St. Luke in Amsterdam in 1931, the Kennemerse Kunstenaarskring (K.K.K.) in 1932, and he became chairman of Kunst zij ons doel in 1939. His work was part of the 1939 exhibition and sale "Onze Kunst van Heden" (Our Art of Today) at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Additionally, he was a member of Arti et Amicitiae from 1943 to 1961.

Boot's career was also marked by controversy due to his membership in the Nederlandse Kultuurkamer and the Kultuurraad during the German occupation from 1941 to 1945. Despite this, he remained a prolific painter and teacher, educating students at the School voor Kunst en Kunstnijverheid in Haarlem. His influence and legacy in the Dutch art world are still recognized today.
