    Guy Boudro

Popularized by his work in Pop-Art, Guy Boudro is a Montreal based artist inspired by the city of New York. With exuberant brush strokes, Boudro captures and immortalizes the essence of pop culture in bold exuberance and vitality.

Born 1967 in Quebec, Canada, Boudro started by dipping his hands in sculpting, painting as well as serigraphy. Being a student of industrial design and marketing, Boudro gained the skills of precision and diligence that are reflected in his expressions to date!

Boudro's depictions demonstrate a hefty influence from the works of the initial artists of the Pop-Art movement such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein and James Rosenquist. His passion for the city of New York led to frequent exploration while absorbing and immersing himself in the culture. His most iconic works include the paintings of the yellow taxi cab, which is a staple to NYC.

Paintings of beloved cartoon figures, superheroes and iconic pop figures incorporated alongside nostalgic brand logos are familiar to Boudro's work. With a bright and contrasting palette, Boudro manages to convey the excitement of his compositions to life. His passion is very clearly reflected in the intricacy of his paintings, mosaics, puzzles and a category of his creation called "Comic Stripes". With an unconventional approach towards perspective and colour, Boudro contrives to intertwine chaos and depth along with nostalgia.

Boudro has achieved international success within his 25 years of professional career, showing in San Francisco, Miami, Montreal, New York, France, Switzerland and even in Greece and India. Bourdro's artworks even made it to an exhibition organized at the UN headquarters in New York. More recently, Boudro was a part of the virtual 9/11 memorial as he made a giant heart in the shape of a puzzle.
