Elangwe Sesse

Elangwe Sesse, a Cameroonian visual artist, born in 1994, originally hailing from Buea and currently residing in San Antonio, Texas, has cultivated a captivating artistic journey. His work serves as a poignant reflection of personal and communal encounters, artfully distilled through the lens of his cultural and socio-political milieu. Drawing inspiration from an eclectic mix of artistic styles, including realism, pop art, and surrealism, Sesse masterfully employs portraiture to critically document the multifaceted conditions experienced by the Black community.

Sesse's artistic focus is unwaveringly centered on themes of identity, community development, and personal growth. Notably, he secured first place at the World Heritage Patrimonito Storyboard Competition by UNESCO in 2012 and was a six-time recipient of the Crayon de D’jino award from 2007 to 2012.
