Anthony Christian

Anthony Christian (b. 1945) is a British artist whose extraordinary talent was recognised at an early age, gaining rare permission as a child to copy Old Master paintings at London’s National Gallery. Declared a prodigy after completing a monumental oil painting inspired by Dutch master Philips Wouwermann, Christian went on to build an exceptional international career. His travels took him across Europe, America, Tibet, and India, where he painted distinguished figures from cultural and public life. Choosing depth over society fame, he later settled in Bali and South India, establishing a museum dedicated to his work. Renowned for his mastery of traditional techniques, Christian’s practice reflects a lifelong engagement with classical painting and a global artistic vision.
