    Abdulrahman Adesola Yusuf

An artist from Lagos, Nigeria, Abdulrahman Adesola Yusuf, was born in 1997. Known by the nickname of Arclght.jpg, Yusuf is a multidisciplinary artist. By using vibrant and contrastive colors, his collages blur the boundaries between digital illustration and photography, exploring themes of self-awareness and growth. The conscious and subconscious impulses of humans and the constant learning required to achieve peace of mind create collages that blur the boundaries between digital illustration and photography.

He takes inspiration from Renaissance art, Baroque and Rococo, ornate art movements, modern minimalist, pop, and internet art, and works that express his visual expression. According to him, his work is a soliloquy comprised of vibrant, contrasting colors that hint at the stories he tells about how he interacts with the environment around him. His art practices establish a relationship with self-love, which leads to the understanding the society with great consciousness. Yusuf also makes efforts to create a dialogue with different communities, celebrate diversity and request peace for inter-tribal.

About his art practice, in one of the art journals, Yusuf quotes, "I use them to document my interaction with my immediate environment; I don't know if that passes as symbolic, but sometimes there are strong usage of symbols like arrow and flowers, depending on what the work is all about it could mean very different things per work like the meaning of the arrow revolves around, pain, death & harm and the flowers growth, youth, life, and beauty." His works desire "to open rooms for conversation" and any story either good or bad, happy or sad could be visually appealing."
