    Mark Andrew Allen

Mark Andrew Allen is an internationally recognized artist who has developed a unique style and been a product of experience gathered over long years of painting, thinking and experiencing life around him. He received his art training from multiple institutes including Parsons School of Design in NY, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and Texas State University in San Marcos. Allen points at consumer culture in an ever so sophisticated way, adding layers of sarcasm woven into polychromatic backdrops.

Allen merges the history of typography, mixed media collage and abstract expressionism into his new pop style and urban street art to create a narrative of our modern-day culture. He has been a major influence in the graphic design community during his two-decade career, working for high profile clients including “Yu-Gi-Oh” and “The Wizard of Oz”, among others.

Displaying his motifs of popular culture, Allen had been inspired from his father, Harrison Allen. Vibrant colours reflect modern scenarios and urban culture, which become a referential cause for having a vivid palette. He also served as the Vice President of Development for the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, a position in which he served for two years. He has won multiple awards from internationally recognized companies scattered throughout the world.

Allen’s work has been exhibited extensively in the US, the UK, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Germany and Portugal. His artworks are a part of many private collections of companies like Walt Disney, NBC/Universal and the US Embassy in Greece, among others. A blend of multiple layers of media collages to represent the times he’s lived in, some of his notable collections have been exhibited in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, Experience Music Project and Acadian Museum.

Mark Andrew Allen lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
