Pradip Maitra

Pradip Maitra graduated with a diploma from Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship, Kolkata.

Pradip Maitra’s powerful strokes in blacks, olive greens, rusts and many such colours, captures the past to combine with the present and create contemporary modern art. Old historical monuments and figurines, steam engines, dilapidated buildings, present day situations, are some of the many themes that have found a place in his paintings, in his abstract style.

Maitra’s fondness for painting landscapes has resulted in some magnificent and bold creations. His paintings are transparent yet mystic. Pradip Maitra is a member of Society Of Contemporary Artists since 1988. He has won eight awards at State & National level. He has also participated in more than hundred exhibitions in India and abroad.

Maitra's work are part of the following collections: National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, Chitrakala Parishad, Bangalore Museum, Hyderabad, R.P.G. Enterprise, Mumbai, Duncun House, Kolkata, Reliance Industries, Mumbai, Governor House, Orissa, Lancashire University, U.K. and many other private collections in Germany, U.S.A., France etc.
